Many employers truly believe with all their hearts that there are many hungry unemployed lazy youths so why should I pay “big” salary. Big salary here refers to the new minimum wage or below. You are surprised right?

My name is Joy Benson. I’m a workforce/workplace expert.
Quality candidates will not accept peanuts as salary. If you want your employees to perform then put in place the structures to encourage top performance, don’t take it out on salaries. If you propose peanuts as salaries, your employees will keep running away from you at the scent of a better job and at year end, you find out you have spent so much time and money on recruitment hurting your business bottom-line.
